PINDIKA PLASTICA rebirth.art.project is geïnitieerd door multidisciplinary artist Miriam Slaats in samenwerking met organisatie De Polder, een kunstplaats voor mensen met NAH (niet-aangeboren-hersenletsel). Het leven staat door het krijgen van hersenletsel in een split second totaal op zijn kop. Men zal als NAH-er een nieuwe balans moeten vinden, zowel op persoonlijk vlak als in relatie tot de omgeving. Onder de vlag BLOB art.movement ontwerpt Slaats co-art-projecten met als thema kunststof. Plastic, het materiaal dat voor ons werkt als ‘the beauty’, maar ook tegen ons als ‘the beast’. We zullen anders moeten omgaan met deze materie om de wereld leefbaarder te maken. Het is de ontwikkeling van bewustwording en wedergeboorte om te komen tot een herstellend evenwicht. Daarin zag Slaats de parallel tot het concipiëren van het PINDIKA PLASTICA rebirth.art.project. De kunstenaar daagde de 16 deelnemers met NAH uit om het gevoel van ‘opnieuw geboren worden’ in plastic uit te drukken. Het werd een indringend proces, waarin kleurrijke creaties en boeiende verhalen betekenisvol vorm hebben gekregen.
PINDIKA PLASTICA rebirth.art.project is initiated by multidisciplinary artist Miriam Slaats in collaboration with organization De Polder, an art studio for people with ABI (Acquired Brain Injury). Life is turned upside down in a split second when getting a brain injury. An ABI person has to find a new balance, both on a personal level and in relation to the environment. Under the flag of BLOB art.movement, Slaats designs co-art projects on the theme of plastic. Plastic, the material that works for us as “the beauty”, but also against us as “the beast”. We will have to deal with this matter in different ways to make the world more livable. It is the development of awareness and rebirth in order to arrive at a restorative balance. In this Slaats saw the parallel of conceiving the PINDIKA PLASTICA rebirth.art.project. The artist challenged the 16 participants with ABI to express the feeling of “being born again” in plastic. It became a penetrating process, in which important creations and fascinating stories were given a meaningful shape.
